About Par-QoL 2018-07-17T15:55:00-04:00

The Participation and Quality of Life (PAR-QoL) project is a Canadian research collaboration between researchers working at Toronto Rehab – University Health Network (Toronto, ON) and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation and Social Integration (CIRRIS; Quebec, QC), a Centre Intégré Universitaire de Santé et de Services Sociaux de la Capitale-Nationale.

The Par-QoL website provides an overview on which QoL and participation outcome tools have been used to assess the impact of secondary health conditions associated with spinal cord injury (SCI), and have mapped each tool to a conceptual model of QoL (Dijkers, 20032005).  Given the increased recognition of including QoL as an outcome to support the findings of clinical trials and health technology assessments, it is imperative that professionals working in the field of SCI select measures that are best suited to meet their individual research or program (clinical) goals.  As our site grows, we hope that it will serve as a forum for knowledge exchange among the SCI community.
