Visual Analogue Scale – Quality of Life (VAS QL)

Description: Assesses global subjective well-being. Originally a measure of pain.

Format: A 100mm visual analog scale ranging from 0 (very low) to 100 (very high) on which respondents record their perception of QoL.

Administration and Burden: Interviewer-administered. One minute to complete.

Languages: English, Swedish.

QoL Concept: This is a measure of perceived QoL, which corresponds to Box E (subjective well-being) of Dijker’s Model.
