PAR-QoL Receives New Funding from the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Education Foundation / PAR-QoL reçoit un nouveau financement de la part de la PVA

Welcome back!  We hope you all have had a good summer.  The PAR-QoL Team is pleased to announce that we have received additional funding from the Paralyzed Veterans of American Education Foundation to maintain and expand the website.  Over the next year, we will be working to update our existing content on outcome tools while adding in new cotent related to physical activity, mobility/transportation, housing and employment.  We will also be hosting a ‘live’ webinar on quality of life outcome tool selection.  The webinar will then be archived on our site for future viewings.

We will also maintain our blog, news and events, newsletters, and expert spotlights to help keep you up-to-date on advances in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation.

Bon retour!  Nous espérons que vous avez passé un bel été. L’équipe PAR-QoL est heureuse d’annoncer qu’elle a reçu des fonds supplémentaires de la part de la Paralyzed Veterans of American Education Foundation afin de maintenir et de développer le site Web. Au cours de la prochaine année, nous travaillerons à la mise à jour du contenu déjà existant concernant les outils de mesure, tout en ajoutant du nouveau contenu lié à l’activité physique, à la mobilité ainsi qu’au transport, au logement et à l’emploi. Nous vous proposerons également un webinaire « en direct » qui portera sur une sélection d’outils de mesure liés à la qualité de vie. Le webinaire sera par la suite archivé sur notre site Web pour des visionnements futurs.

New PAR-QoL Article – Spasticity / Nouvel article PAR-QoL – La spasticité

The PAR-QoL Team has published a new article in Topics in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation about identifying and classifying quality of life tools for assessing spasticity.  You can view the abstract by clicking on the reference below.

The focus of the issue is on movement towards a common definition of quality of life (QoL).  In particular, the article by Marcel Post provides an overview how the concepts of QoL and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) have evolved over time, (b) describes the various ways QoL has been defined and measured, and (c) provides recommendations on how to be as clear and consistent as possible in QoL research.  Read this excellent article by clicking on the reference below:
