Mood Adjective Check List (MACL)

Description: A quantitative measure of mental well-being and emotional status [1].

Format: 71 mood-associated adjectives, arranged in a symmetrical response format with 2 acceptance and 2 rejection categories. Participants decide whether the various adjectives correspond to their momentary mood state. Adjectives are subdivided into 6 bipolar dimensions: pleasantness/unpleasantness, activation/deactivation, extraversion/introversion, calmness/tension, positive/negative social orientation, control/lack of control.

Administration and Burden: Self-administered.

Languages: Swedish.

QoL Concept: This is a measure of mental well-being, corresponding to Box E (subjective well-being) of Dijker’s Model.
